At Giving Love Outreach, we believe in building lasting change, not temporary solutions. Our mission unfolds in three key phases, guiding underserved communities and at-risk youth from awareness to empowerment, and finally, to ownership and sustainability.
Goal: To inspire and educate communities on the power of collective impact through the Every 1 Counts movement.
Goal:
To provide hands-on training, financial literacy, and career development opportunities that create a cycle of learning and growth.
Empowerment is about more than job opportunities—it’s about giving individuals the tools, knowledge, and confidence to thrive on their own terms.
Goal: To create employee-owned businesses that allow participants to build equity, generate wealth, and reinvest in their communities
This isn’t just about jobs—it’s about ownership, leadership, and breaking the cycle of poverty through economic empowerment.
From awareness to empowerment to ownership, we are building a future where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Be part of the change—donate, volunteer, or partner with us today!
I’m Jonine Mathis, President of Giving Love Outreach (GLO), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and families in need. My journey toward giving began in 2016 after years as a bail bondsman and running businesses that didn’t fulfill my deeper purpose.
As a bondsman, I witnessed firsthand the heartbreaking cycle of young offenders repeatedly returning to the system. I saw the root causes: fatherless homes, overwhelmed single parents, and teenagers finding guidance in the streets rather than positive role models. This experience ignited my desire to intervene and provide hope and resources to youth before it was too late.
Initially, I launched GLO Promotions LLC as an entertainment company, bringing excitement to local clubs with “GLO Girls.” While fun and creative, the venture wasn’t aligned with my calling. Around the same time, I started Positive Power Coaching to mentor and guide young people toward better choices. But my heart kept returning to a deeply personal mission inspired by my own past.
In 1990, I left Pittsburgh, PA, fleeing an abusive marriage with my three young children. During that time, I spent many holidays in shelters, feeling the weight of creating joy for my children in unfamiliar environments. Those memories shaped my passion for giving back to women and children in similar situations. I began collecting new toys for children in shelters, hoping to bring them happiness during the holidays. Despite the financial challenges of running two businesses, I vowed to continue this tradition year after year.
In 2016, my son and I combined our visions to create Giving Love Outreach. Today, GLO not only ensures that children in shelters receive new toys at Christmas but also offers programs that nurture their unique talents and gifts. Our mission is to empower children and families, helping them become active, thriving members of society under the belief that No Child Should Be Left Behind.
Through GLO, I have found my life’s purpose—giving love, hope, and opportunity to those who need it most.
